The LWML Book Club will be wrapping up discussion on Facing Your Giants this month with meetings on Feb. 5 and Feb. 19 at 10:00 AM in the Conference Room.
Highlights from our January business meeting include a reintroduction of our knitting group, which will now include crochet as well. We are going to concentrate on scarves for donation to several different charity groups. The baby hats were a bit too complicated for many of us! The new Needle Arts Group will meet on Feb. 2 at 7:00 pm at the home of Phyllis Walsh. Bring your own yarn, needles and snack item (if you need to snack and work). Beverages will be provided.
We also adopted another new mission project, Global Care Packages. This is a project jointly sponsored by the Orphan Grain Train and Lutheran Hour Ministries. We will be assembling bags and delivering them to the LHM distribution center. There is a shopping list for these bags and each bag must contain all the items on the list exactly. The rough cost of each bag is $15.00. If you would like to help fill our bags, either by donation of cash or items on the list please see me. I will be posting information on the bulletin board in the Narthex.
Our enormous thanks was also extended to Betty Schuler and Betty Seitz who have both retired from the LWML Board after many years of service. And a warm welcome was extended to our new officers, Sharyn Feldkamp and Phyllis Walsh.
Please remember that we are a diverse group with a wide variety of activities. Don’t feel shy about joining us in anything that interests you…..Debbie Krainz, LWML President
